A rib-tickling Malayalam comedy about a struggling actor’s quest for stardom
Krishnan Nair, aka Kichu (Vishnu Unnikrishnan), was so named for a reason. His father hoped that by giving him the real name of the late Malayalam action hero Jayan, the young man would succeed where he failed in becoming a great screen star. Unfortunately, Kichu is a rather ordinary lad with no interest in acting, which drives a wedge between him and his father. This changes when he inadvertently finds himself acting in a film. Alas, his looks mean that he is typecast for the next decade. But then opportunity comes knocking and he’s given the chance to become next Rajinikanth of Indian Cinema! Nadirshah’s second film as director builds on the massive success of his debut feature ‘Amar Akbar Antony’, delivering an uplifting social message alongside moments of pure laugh-out-loud comedy.
